Together with Hulst Municipality and 120 invited guests and sympathisers, we officially opened the new peripheral road ‘Honoré Kerckhaertweg’ in Vogelwaarde. The construction of this road takes busy agricultural and freight traffic away from the village centre and allows the village and our company Royal Kerckhaert to be further developed with a view to a sustainable future.
‘The Rapenburg in Vogelwaarde is one of the busiest roads in Zeeland,’ Councillor De Pauw explained in his speech. The construction of a by-pass was therefore necessary and immediately constituted one of the biggest structural works the Municipality of Hulst ever undertook. The works started in 2023 and presented the municipality and contractors with challenges. During the official opening moment, councillor Hageman also spoke. He thanked all parties involved who helped make it possible to realise the major far-reaching project. The constructive cooperation between the Municipality of Hulst, the Province of Zeeland, residents and local businesses. Our company Royal Kerckhaert was especially thanked for the good cooperation and structural contribution to the project. The reference to the founder of Royal Kerckhaert Horseshoe Factory is a nice confirmation of the constructive cooperation.
In 1906, grandfather Honoré Kerckhaert founded the company here in the heart of Vogelwaarde. Meanwhile, with the fourth generation, we have grown into the largest horseshoe manufacturer in the world. Sustainability in business, but also as a company in the environment, is an important part of our DNA and operation.
